At the edge of the field, where morning gathers before becoming day.

Collects patterns, questions, and quiet things.
The house looks small from the outside, but the rooms do not quite obey its walls. Maps, diagrams, unfinished questions, and repeating patterns collect inside, as if they were left there by someone who knew they would eventually be found. Nothing feels abandoned, but nothing feels fully occupied either. The clocks work, though they rarely agree. A low mechanical hum lives somewhere behind the walls. Sometimes a light is already on in the next room.
Dew gathers on the windows even when the air is dry. A path of moss and stone leads to the door, though visitors sometimes remember arriving another way.
Crossing the threshold feels like remembering something that was never taught. The noise of the outside world fades. The mind looks for a label, a story, an explanation, and eventually gives up. What remains is quieter. Just the room, the light, the hum, and the awareness noticing it.
There is always a chair, something warm to drink, and an empty place at the table for whatever followed you in.
